WorkSafeBC requires every employer to complete a workplace first aid assessment. The level of first aid attendant you need depends on three things:
As a rule of thumb, smaller lower-risk workplaces close to emergency care often need Basic, while larger, higher-risk or more remote sites need Intermediate or higher. Basic First Aid (formerly OFA Level 1) is 8 hours, run in one day. Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level 2) is 16 hours, delivered as two days in person or as a blend of online learning and an in-person practical day at your site.
Yes. Clear Health Group is a WorkSafeBC-approved first aid training agency, and the Basic and Intermediate certifications issued through our courses meet WorkSafeBC requirements.
We train groups of 5 or more at one site, and there is no maximum group size. Larger teams can also be split across several sessions to keep your operation running.
WorkSafeBC first aid certificates are valid for three years. Basic and Intermediate are renewed by retaking the full course before the certificate expires, and your client portal shows who is coming up for renewal.
We ask for at least 72 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a booking. Cancellations with less than 72 hours' notice are subject to late fees.
