Mobile Hearing Testing Cost in BC: What Changes the Price
Mobile hearing testing is quoted for your crew and your site. Here is what changes the price, and how to get an exact number in about a minute.
What Changes the Cost
- Number of workers. We test groups of 5 or more per visit. Each test takes about 10 minutes, and each of our mobile units tests 50+ workers a day.
- Your industry. Construction companies in classification units starting with 72 don't pay per worker tested under WorkSafeBC's Construction Industry Program.
- Other services on the same visit. Respirator fit testing, first aid training and custom hearing protection can go on the same quote.
- Site access and scheduling. Shift times and where our mobile units can park can change the final quote.
What Is Included
- A WorkSafeBC-authorized test (IAB #436) in one of our mobile units, done by a WorkSafeBC-certified industrial audiometric technician
- An audiogram and results for each worker
- A summary report for your records, saved in your client portal
The Hidden Cost of Clinic Visits
The test price is only part of the cost. Sending workers off site one at a time means paid hours and lost production. Our mobile units fit a standard parking stall and need no power hook-up, so crews are tested without leaving the job.
How Often You Need Testing
WorkSafeBC requires a first test within 6 months of starting work, then at least every 12 months, for workers exposed above 85 dBA Lex or a 140 dBC peak. Plan your budget for new hires as well as annual retests. See the WorkSafeBC hearing testing requirements.
