Here are answers to common questions about our on-site fit tester training.
A safety coordinator, supervisor, foreman, or first aid attendant who will be responsible for fit testing your workers. No prior experience is needed. Participants must attend the full four hours, including the practical assessment, to be signed off.
Yes. They are assessed as competent to run qualitative fit testing on your own workers. It does not cover quantitative testing or training other testers.
Qualitative, using Bitrex or saccharin protocols. That covers N95 and suitable half-face respirators. This course does not cover full-face respirators or quantitative fit testing.
CSA Z94.4 requires fit tests to be carried out by a trained, competent person, but it does not set an expiry date on that training. Industry practice is to refresh every three years and we recommend the same. Refresh sooner if your tester moves to different respirator types or your program changes.
For routine testing, no. Most clients keep us for big intakes, shutdowns, second sites or cover when their tester is away.
$895 for up to four participants, without fit testing equipment. $1,595 including a purchased fit test kit. Add $175 for each trainee beyond four. Prices exclude GST.
