About the Client

Frontline Custom Homes operates in the construction industry in Langley, BC.

With workers and subtrades moving through active construction projects, coordinating occupational health services needs to be straightforward and cause as little disruption to the workday as possible.

Frontline Custom Homes chose ClearWork to bring mobile hearing testing directly to their Langley job site rather than coordinating individual off-site appointments for their crew.

The Challenge
What the organization was facing

For construction companies, sending multiple workers away from a job site for individual hearing tests can mean additional travel, scheduling challenges and time away from the project.

Frontline Custom Homes needed an efficient way to have workers complete their occupational hearing testing while keeping the process convenient for both management and the crew.

The solution was simple: bring the hearing testing to the workers.

Our Solution

Step 1: Coordinate the Visit

ClearWork worked with Frontline Custom Homes to arrange an on-site testing date and organize the workers requiring hearing tests.

Step 2: Bring Testing to the Job Site

Noah from our ClearWork team arrived at the Langley site with the equipment required to complete the scheduled hearing testing.

Instead of sending workers to separate appointments, testing was brought directly to the workplace.

Step 3: Test the Crew

A total of 10 workers completed their hearing tests during the initial visit

Workers could rotate through their appointments while remaining at the job site, reducing unnecessary travel and helping limit disruption to the workday.

Step 4: Schedule the Next Group

Following the first visit, Frontline Custom Homes immediately booked ClearWork to return approximately two weeks later.

The second visit will provide on-site hearing testing for another 20 workers from their subtrades. That brings the project to approximately 30 workers tested or scheduled across two visits.

What was included:
  • On-site occupational hearing testing
  • Mobile testing equipment and setup
  • Individual worker hearing tests
  • Testing directly at the construction site
  • Scheduling around workplace operations
  • Coordination for additional subtrade workers
  • Follow-up service as the project progresses
The Results
What we delivered
Workers Tested : 10
Additional Workers Booked : 20
Total Tested / Scheduled : 30
Off-Site Clinic Travel : Not required for on-site testing
Location : Langley, BC
Follow-Up Visit : Booked

Why This Approach Worked

Construction projects don't always have the same workers on site from beginning to end.

Different employees, contractors and subtrades may arrive throughout various phases of a project, making flexibility particularly important when coordinating occupational health services.

Mobile hearing testing allows employers to organize testing at the workplace and schedule additional visits as their workforce changes.

For Frontline Custom Homes, the first visit covered 10 workers. Two weeks later, ClearWork is scheduled to return for another group of approximately 20 subtrade workers.

That approach helps reduce travel, simplifies scheduling and keeps workers close to the job site.

Benefits for Similar Businesses

On-site occupational hearing testing can be a practical option for workplaces with employees exposed to occupational noise, including:

  • Construction companies
  • General contractors
  • Civil construction
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Warehouses
  • Forestry operations
  • Transportation companies
  • Utilities
  • Industrial facilities

ClearWork can coordinate testing for smaller crews as well as larger workforce testing projects.
