About the Client
Advance Pallet supplies new, recycled and custom pallets and crates in BC and Alberta. Pallet operations involve saws, nailing equipment and other machinery, which makes hearing conservation an important part of workplace safety.

What the organization was facing
Advance Pallet needs hearing tests for its noise-exposed workers every year, plus respirator fit testing for part of the team. Arranging two services with two providers, and sending workers off-site for each, means more coordination and more time away from production, every single year.

2025: 73 workers hearing tested in our mobile unit and 6 workers fit tested on-site.

Do workers need to leave the site?
No. Hearing tests take place in our mobile unit and fit testing is done on-site.
How often are these required in BC?
Hearing tests are required within 6 months of a noise-exposed worker's start date and then every 12 months. Fit tests are required before first use of a tight-fitting respirator and at least once a year.
Is there a minimum group size?
Yes. We book on-site visits for groups of 5 or more people at one site.
Do clients rebook for their annual testing?
Yes. WorkSafeBC requires hearing tests and fit tests every year, and many clients book their next visit while we are on-site. Advance Pallet rebooked for 2027 on the day of their 2026 testing.
