This project started on the job site. Noah from the Clear Work team visited the Vancor site directly as part of our construction outreach, and that conversation led to Vancor booking on-site hearing testing for the crew.
Vancor Construction needed a practical way to complete mandatory WorkSafeBC occupational hearing testing for 15 construction workers without pulling the crew off an active residential build.
Sending workers to an off-site clinic would have meant 15 separate appointments, 15 sets of travel time, and a schedule that had to survive weather delays, trade sequencing and inspection dates.
The requirement itself was never in question. The logistics were.
Noah from the Clear Work team arrived on-site with our mobile hearing testing unit and coordinated testing directly at the workplace.
Workers came through a few at a time as their tasks allowed, rather than the site stopping. All 15 workers were tested in approximately two hours.
Our team also walked workers through the hearing protection options available to them, from disposable, reusable and banded earplugs to standard, electronic and hard-hat-mounted earmuffs and custom-fitted moulds, so the testing connected to something the crew could act on.
Results were handled with proper privacy separation. Workers receive the appropriate information relating to their own hearing test, and the employer receives the testing and status information it needs for its records, not audiograms, hearing thresholds or clinical notes.

Contractors don't generally go looking for a hearing testing provider. The requirement sits on the list until a deadline makes it urgent. Meeting a provider on site, one who already understands what a construction schedule looks like, is how it moves from the list to the calendar.
From there, the scheduling conversation was practical from the first minute. The visit was booked approximately two months ahead, which gave Vancor room to place it at a point in the build where pulling crew for a few minutes each wouldn't collide with a pour or an inspection.
The clearest measure of whether it worked isn't in the testing numbers. Following the initial on-site visit, Vancor booked Clear Work to return again in November.
